"I'm shocked this guy brought a camera & reported anything ... after the head production manager made two announcemets ... No Cameras!
I was there one night and it was pretty cool I must say.
No Axl of course.
Well, without giving away the full set (I promised Del!), they did a complete run through of about 17-18 songs for about a week. Lots of visuals that complement each track - pyro, spots, etc. Nice lighting truss design plus a fucking bad ass re-working of a theme song that leads into "Live & Let Die" written by Richard Fortus. Overall well done.
I loved "Shackler's Revenge," "Better," "Prostitute" & "Rocket Queen" live.
FYI: That middle ramp/riser has Axl's grand piano under it for quick access."
Thanks to Rancid Punks and DJ Will for this sneak peak into what is shaping up to be a "monumental" stage show.

A message from Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal regarding his comments in the i heart guitar interview:
Regarding the end of the interview about GN'R touring, it came off in the printed transcription to sound like I was citing the economy like some lame excuse...
"It’s just that when it comes to battling the economy ... there are so many variables that could make it not work."
I wasn't saying the sole reason GN'R hadn't toured was due to the economy, or the economy only - folks gotta read the whole sentence, up to where it ends with a period.
You know, the period. As in "I'm complaining about Ron's interview because I have my period."
There are "many variables that could make it not work."
In other words, as I've been telling everyone for years, I don't give any specific info about GN'R's business in my own personal interviews.
Don't ask Azoff about my guitar parts, don't ask me about GN'R's business.
Hyperactive motormouths have been busy for some time now about some group of armed fauna called Guns N’ Roses making pasta out of big, bad, boisterous Dimapur.
For several weeks now, rousing conversations of Naga youths on the internet have been like totally happening about Axl Rose’s hairy horde doing Dimapur probably before November’s rain comes (no pun intended).
I’ve checked my media sources in Delhi and Bangalore, and just a few hours ago, Oregon new south and Los Angeles.
The group’s tour managers made no mention of an India date either, leave alone Dimapur but the scent is still strong.
But, wait, repeat, but wait, there are persuasive info that it’s actually a US supergroup with members drawn from Alice Cooper, Guns N’ Roses and White Lion for a Dimapur show. Phew.
The trail has led to a Dimapur-based events management group which is rigging up the this-and-thats for the rockers. Yes, plans are on and lots of super top-secret 10 PM meetings are on. Watch this space, man, watch this space.
Peter Hodgson at i heart guitar just conducted another new interview with Guns N' Rose master of P.R. and fan liason, Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal.
A brief excerpt follows. What are your memories of Australia on the Guns N' Roses tour?
Oh man, let’s start off with the flight to Australia. At first I was dreading the flight because it was a good 14 hours, but it was the most comfortable flight I’ve ever been on. It was the first time I actually had a full comfortable night’s sleep on an airplane in my entire life, so it’s the first time I ever experienced that. So it was off to a good start.
I think we landed in Sydney then shot all the way over to Perth. Then we drove up to Fremantle and visited Bon Scott’s grave, paid our respects. Just the little things you remember. I remember being on a train and there was a young girl who had part of her face painted – she was going to a football game and the way it looked was something different to what you see in America. She had a little flag painted under her eye. It’s the little things like that. I remember those things more than the shows. Just the normal, human moments. Those are the things that really stand out.
Y’know, the view from the hotel in Sydney overlooking the Opera House and the bridge and everything. Walking around with my wife, Sebastian Bach and a couple of guys from his band, and suddenly some guy in a trenchcoat comes running up to us going “Hey! Hey! Hey!” and he opens his coat up and pulls out Axl’s microphone. It turns out that the night before, when Axl through his microphone out, that’s the guy that caught it. Oh what else ... I remember also in Sydney eating in a really nice restaurant along the water at night… just the nice moments like that.
The shows are always ... how do you even describe a show? It starts and your brain is in this other mode, and next thing you know the show is over and it’s more like one of those hazish dreams: “Did I just play, or didn’t I?” So unless something very significant happens in the show, I don’t really remember the show in a very clear way. But it’s everything after.
Going back afterwards and meeting Chris Szkup and his girl, hanging with them. I can still picture seeing them and this nice drawing they gave me in a frame, which is hanging in my living room right now. It’s hanging over my wife’s head as she’s sitting on the couch right now watching Hell’s Kitchen on TiVo. So it’s little things like that. No matter what happens, good or bad, those are the fond memories that make it an endearing experience you cherish. The dinners, the hanging out.
Are there any plans for more GN'R touring?
There have been a lot of plans, it’s just that when it comes to battling the economy ... there are so many variables that could make it not work. I’m guessing at this point that if something is confirmed, management would let everyone know. So at this point if I said anything it would be premature, so I should just wait for them to say anything.
(As usual, this is just a short snippet. You can read the full interview here.)

According to his twitter page, Duff "will be writing new LOADED songs tonite and tomorrow. Some great ideas and riffs have come on this latest tour. Excited for sure!"
This is bittersweet news for many of Duff's fans. In my opinion, it implies that Velvet Revolver is indeed staying parked on the back burner. 2010 will see Slash's solo album and I presume, an ensuing tour. Loaded, in turn, will likely cycle through another period of songwriting, recording, touring, etc. I imagine it will be a few years before VR convenes again, if ever.
Later today, Duff tweeted:
"VR will continue our search for our singer. It WILL happen! When I speak of Loaded, I am certainly not speaking against VR!"
Okay.
I've been listening to Loaded's latest Sick, and while I do enjoy it, it's a little to happy and upbeat for my tastes. I prefer their 2001 release, Dark Days.
There are some great songs on this record though. "Sick" has aggressive lyrics and a crazy guitar solo. "Forgive Me" is a perfect little alt-pop-rock song that crystallizes Loaded's sound quite well. Duff's vocals sound great on that track. "Wasted Heart" wouldn't sound out of place on the Stones' Beggars Banquet LP. "No More" is probably the catchiest tune on the disc.
In an interview with Guitar World Magazine, Duff explained that the band decided to write a new album when, at a Christmas benefit gig, they realized how many good unrecorded songs they had.
Although Duff wrote most of the songs on Dark Days, much of Sick was composed by the band or with other writers. One track, the somber “Mothers Day,” took shape from McKagan and Rouse jamming together on bass guitars. It was called “Two Basses” until McKagan wrote lyrics about friends he’s lost to drugs.
Surprisingly, although doing time in GN’R and Velvet Revolver cemented his association with Slash, McKagan credits former Gunner Izzy Stradlin as the guitarist that most influenced his own rhythm playing. “I think from Izzy I learned where a rhythm guitar player should be, within the band,” McKagan says. “As a result, I don’t overthink it.”
