Miami Housewife Cristy Rice Talks Skincare

Let’s talk about health and housewives. Specifically: skin care and the Real Housewives of Miami.

Cast members in the Real Housewives franchise tend to fall squarely in the Women-We-Love-to-Hate category of pop culture – rare is the reality show character who doesn’t – but they’re not all big lips and tiny dogs.

Too their credit, the hausfraus of Bravo get some stuff right.

Don’t believe us? Cristy Rice and Dr. Jonette Keri, a dermatologist with the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, sat down to talk sun and skin.

As any society gal from South Florida knows: it’s a tough balance between having a beautiful, sun-kissed complexion while avoiding the look of shoe leather – or as Rice put it, the color of “orange-purple.”

So Keri and Rice share some healthy habits that can help you strike the right balance between enjoying the sun and protecting your skin.

…And in case you were wondering, those over sized sunglasses are, indeed, functional.

Cristy Rice Talks "Real Housewives of Miami"

http://discotreats.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/glen-rice-wife-cristina-fernandez-rice1.jpgLast week at the Eden Roc Miami Beach, Miami New Times got the chance to catch up with one of the Real Housewives of Miami, Cristy Rice - better known as the single mama/ex-wife of NBAer Glen Rice. And while she stayed a little tame, Rice talked about the show, the fact she is the only one with a job, and what its like to be an actual basketball wife.

Miami New Times: You and the ladies are the first Latina housewives. How does that feel?

Cristy Rice: It's one of the main reasons I did the show. I wanted to show the country a Latina woman, something that has never been done on Bravo.

Doing a reality show can either go really well or well, terrible. What made you want to do the show?
I said no a million times, but eventually no turned into a yes. I actually turned down the show a few times.

You start of the show as a single lady. Do you have a man in your life these days?

I'm still single.

Is it weird to be one of the only wives with an actual job?

I have had my clothing store for about 10 years and I just took it online. I actually just created a line of accessories and a line of workout wear, so I have been busy.

Bethenny Frankel turned Real Housewives of New York into a full blown empire. Is that a reason you did the show?

It was something that was already in the works, so it can't hurt, right?

What does your ex, retired NBAer Glen Rice, think of you doing the show?

We talk all the time. He wishes me well.

Adriana DeMoura Sidi: I'm Not a "Trainwreck!"

Bravo's newest Real Housewives of Miami star Adriana DeMoura-Sidi may engage in some wacky antics on tonight's season premiere, but she wants to make one thing clear: She's not a "trainwreck."

When the Brazilian-born art curator and mom goes out for a girls' night with fellow cast members Larsa Pippen and Cristy Rice, she causes a stir on the streets of Miami.

"Don't dare me to do something fun, because it's second nature to me," DeMoura-Sidi says as she wanders into a random fashion show after the models have left the catwalk and decides to strut her stuff.

As the above clip shows, DeMoura-Sidi's pals are stunned by her wacky antics.

"Cristy and I were dying," says Pippen. "We'd never have the balls to do that."

DeMoura-Sidi reasons that her impromptu strut was born out of a desire to prove her worth with the women.

"They were trying to make me look stupid, like the crazy one, the trainwreck," she explains. "So I showed them how it's done."

Snipes Rice: "Who wants to go on a catwalk when the show's over and everybody's gone [other than] my daughter and her friends, who are eight?! It's cute when you're 8!"

Introducing Cristy Rice’s Bri Bri Boutique

http://starcasm.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/Cristy-Rice_Bri-Bri-Boutique.jpg?ggnoads

In addition to her quality naps and looking after her three kids Real Housewives of Miami’s Cristy Rice spends quite a bit of her time and energy focused on running her South Miami clothing store Bri Bri Boutique. The store shares its unique name with Cristy’s vibrant and beautiful daughter Bri Bri.  Darren O of Starcasm  was able to find out some info and links for the RHoM’s business and shared this brief write up so you can have a good idea of what takes up so much of Cristy’s time.

Bri Bri Boutique is considered a South Miami store, the physical location for the boutique is 7320 Southwest 57th Avenue, South Miami, FL.

The boutique has its own website which you can visit here.  The home page features a graphic layout that lets you navigate to different parts of the store.  A variety of clothing, jewelry and accessories are listed via the site.  Prices from Bri Bri range from $150 for select jewelry to $75 for hand-woven bags to $60 for assorted tops and dresses. These are beyond reasonable prices for Miami I’m told!

Cristy Rice's Ugly Divorce From Glen Rice

http://static.thehollywoodgossip.com/images/gallery/glen-and-cristy-rice.jpg

Real Housewives of Miami's Cristy Rice Fernandez used to be married to former Miami Heat star Glen Rice, but when they broke up, it was kinda messy to say the least. Sports fans will recall that Glen was arrested in 2008 on suspicion of felony battery after he found a man hiding in Cristy's closet while they were estranged. But for those of us non-sports fans who only ever heard of Glen Rice because of Real Housewives, here's the lowdown according to ESPN:
Rice went to the home of estranged wife Christina Rice and punched Alberto Perez several times, police said. Perez fled the home and called police. He received a cut to his forehead that needed nine stitches, police said.
Rice surrendered to police and was released later on $5000 bail. Add this to the rumor that Cristy is the "homewrecker" behind Luis Fonsi's divorce from his cancer-surviving wife Adamari Lopez and you have the makings of a Real Housewives super hüila.

Now that Cristy is single, she is raising the couple's five children, running an online clothing store for kids called Bri Bri Boutique, and dealing with "relationship drama," according to her Bravo bio. When it comes to Cristy, we won't take those words lightly. Here's hoping she reveals the deets of all her sordid affairs on the show.
